School Rules

  1. A student should carry his/her photograph with complete identity information and it should be duly signed by parent.

  2. Students who come to school by their transport should arrive at school before the bell is rung. No student is allowed to come to school in a self-driven scooter, motor-cycle or car.

  3. Change of classrooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly fashion.

  4. Students should be clean and neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn every day and for all the school functions. Students who are sloppily dressed or not in uniform will be sent home. They must wear their name plates and carry their identity cards.

  5. Non-Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Sikh boys must wear a turban/Patka.

  6. No shouting or whistling is allowed in the school campus.

  7. To throw anything at any one is strictly forbidden.

  8. Students are expected to respect the property of others. This includes respect for school property and no student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or Adm. office or the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it. Any one who notices something damaged, should report the matter even if he or she does not know who has done it. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments to school. Students are advised to keep the class room/campus as neat as possible and throw leftovers into the dustbins only.

  9. No books (other than text books or library books), magazines or money may be brought to the school without the Principal’s permission.

  10. Lending or borrowing of money and other articles is not permitted.

  11. The school is not responsible for the goods lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles (like expensive watches or fountain pens to school.

  12. Students who come to school in the care of servants should never leave before the servant arrives. In case of delay, they should report to the school office.

  13. The students of Delhi Public School should observe polite standards wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying and the use of foul language are punishable offences. Since it is a co-ed school, it is expected that students behave in a manner which brings a good name to the school community and they do not indulge in any anti-social activity in or outside the school.

  14. The school reserves the right to suspend or to take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.

  15. Parents and guardians should not visit their wards or teachers in the classrooms without the permission of the Principal.

  16. Students should get their Report Cards signed by their parents/ guardians within five days of the receipt of the Report Card.

  17. Students are not supposed to miss any teaching/games/activity period whether there is a teacher in the class or not. The time table in-charge has been directed to make alternate arrangements in case a teacher is absent.

  18. D.P.S., MR Nagar provides education from Class Nursery to Class XII. Therefore, it is expected that the juniors be treated with love and affection by the seniors while the juniors show all respect to them.

  19. All students are expected to arrive on time.

  20. No student shall indulge in any of the following practices, namely :

    • Spitting in or near the school building

    • Disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property

    • Smoking

    • Any form of gambling

    • Use of drugs or intoxicants except on the prescription of a medical practitioner.

    • Rowdiness and rude behaviour

    • Use of violence in any form.

  21. The observance of School's Rules of discipline and good behaviour is an essential condition to a student’s continuance in the school. In case a student violates the school rules or indulges in any form of indiscipline, strict action like expulsion/suspension/rustication shall be taken against the student.

  22. The students who will be selected to participate/represent the School in sports/cultural or any other activities, will have to participate accordingly.

  23. Students are strictly not allowed to carry any electronic device/instruments (mobile, I-pod etc.) to school. If found, they will be strictly dealt with.
